A growing after-hours small animal emergency clinic is seeking a weekend vet to work at their practice in the beautiful Blue Mountains, just 90-minutes from Sydney.

Full or part-time hours available. Those looking for a full time role can participate in GP work at a local clinic during the week alongside the on-call work. The frequency of shifts can be tailored to suit.

A typical weekend shift would run from Friday night through until Monday morning, excluding Saturday from 8:30 - 12:30). The vet will be on-call and will be required to answer the emergency phone, attend any genuine emergency cases and provide care to in-hospital patients who need to be treated after hours.

The role is sole charge with an experienced nurse on call. The nurse will be on premises during the day, helping with in-patients and is able to transport any critical cases to a 24-hour facility if required. Back-up is available from the local referring veterinarians where necessary.

The caseload is varied, rewarding and manageable. The vet will see an average of 4-5 consults and 1-2 hospital cases each weekend depending on the season.

The practice provides after-hours emergency services to several local clinics within the area. Due to growth, they are now seeking vets to cover the weekend shifts and help continue to grow the practice.

On-site accommodation and work vehicle are provided during the weekends worked. If a vet is working consecutive weekends, the accommodation and vehicle are also available to use during the week.
