A great opportunity has arisen for an equine surgeon to join a well-established, progressive practice at the foothills of the Blue Mountains.

This role is open to those that are specialists, board eligible or have done additional extensive training in equine sugery.

The team are highly skilled and committed to providing routine, emergency and referral equine care. The caseload is truly varied, servicing a large number of racing and sports horses, pleasure horses and breeding clients. Vets see all types of horses and a wide variety of conditions.

The position is full time and includes participation in a rotating after-hours on-call roster, which is currently 1 in 3.

On offer is a competitive salary of up to of $150,000 plus super commensurate with experience. Other benefits include a phone and work vehicle, up to $5000 relocation assistance, four weeks annual leave plus one week of study leave, five days paid volunteer leave, paid parental leave plus paid AVA membership and VSB registration and genuine paid support for continuing education.

Applicants should possess exceptional communication skills, a proactive, positive attitude and the ability to work independently and within a team.

Facilities include a large exam/treatment/standing surgery suite, two hospital barns and a surgical suite. Vets have access to state-of-the-art equipment such as multiple radiography units, high-quality ultrasound units, nuclear scintigraphy, arthroscopy, laparoscopy, powerfloat dental equipment, extracorporeal shockwave therapy, diode laser unit, Multi-radiance laser, in-house lab, Autologous Conditioned Plasma, endoscopy.

The employer is willing to assist with a work permit (sponsorship) for suitable overseas candidates. Applicants must have a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (or equivalent) and be eligible for registration as a veterinary practitioner in Australia.
