A well-established practice in Melbourne's southeast has a current vacancy for an experienced vet to lead their team.
As the Lead Vet, you will be involved in a mix of consulting, surgery and leading a wonderful team of three passionate vets, an experienced practice manager and team of nurses.
This practice provides professional and high-standard health care to dogs, cats, exotic pets and wildlife.
The clinic houses a well-equipped operating theatre with state-of-the-art monitoring equipment. With fully equipped examination rooms, diagnostic machines and pharmaceutical stores, the practice provides on-the-spot assistance for nearly all pet health and medical needs.
The successful applicant will have excellent verbal and written communication skills and a calm, compassionate, and professional demeanour. You will have leadership skills and be team-oriented, with attention to detail and excellent time management skills.
Proven veterinary experience within a senior role will be highly regarded but is not mandatory. Support is available from a dedicated and easily accessible support office team to help take the pressure off the admin aspect of a lead vet position.
Benefits of the role include:
- Industry-leading salary package
- Sign-on bonus
- Lead Veterinarian Bonus Scheme
- Unique bonus/equity opportunity
- Paid Veterinary Board Registration, Radiation License and VIN membership
- Generous CPD allowance and paid study leave for Veterinarians
- Novated Vehicle Leasing options

- Access to an Employee Assistance Program (EAP). Mental health and wellbeing are a priority, and the employer understands that work-life balance is vital
- Paid parental leave
- Generous team member referral bonus
- Perks & discounts on everyday expenses, including groceries, electronics, entertainment, fuel, restaurants, fashion brands & more
The employer is willing to assist with a work permit (sponsorship) for suitable overseas candidates. Applicants must have a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (or equivalent) and be eligible for registration as a veterinary practitioner in Australia.
The practice is located at the gateway to the beautiful Mornington Peninsula, close to beaches and wineries as well as the city of Melbourne.
