A practice in outback New South Wales has a current vacancy for an experienced veterinarian to join their team in a full-time capacity.

The team consists of 2.5 vets. Vets are supported by a highly skilled team of vet nurses. You will also be provided with ongoing professional support from the chief veterinarian and state-wide veterinary teams. As well as this, there are also training opportunities at larger hospitals.

The position will see the successful applicant responsible for delivering quality veterinary services to private small animal clients. There is also the opportunity to assist with some welfare-based work, such as community desexing schemes or supporting the inspectorate if/when required.

The full time role will see the successful candidate working approximately seven days of on-call per month, for which there is a veterinary triage service to answer initial calls.

This purpose-built practice is about to be renovated and expanded in 2022/2023, allowing for a more comprehensive service to be provided to the community. Equipment at the practice includes ultrasound, digital x-ray, IM3 dental machine, endoscope, in-house biochemistry, CBC and coags; tonometer, Doppler, pulse ox, ECG, a large range of soft tissue and orthopaedic surgical equipment and is computerised with Cornerstone software.

The employer is willing to assist with a work permit (sponsorship) for suitable overseas candidates. Applicants must have a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (or equivalent) and be eligible for registration as a veterinary practitioner in Australia.

The hospital is located in a welcoming town with a population of around 18,000, where the climate is warm and sunny. The clients are friendly and approachable. The town has all the essential facilities plus a large number of schools, art galleries, modern pubs and recreational activities.
