Are you looking for a sea change?

A privately owned, established practice located in regional South Australia is on the lookout for a new team member to join them on their adventure!

If you love the idea of:

- Living and working in a rural community located amongst some ancient and remarkable country.

- Variety in your cases (mainly companion animals and exotics).

- A modern practice with all the bells and whistles.

- The opportunity to learn, grow and pursue your professional interests.

Then this might be the right opportunity for you!

Experienced vets have the opportunity to specialise in their areas of choice. Vets are fully supported by the vet nurse team, who work closely alongside you to make your days easier and allow you to focus on your work.

The successful applicant can choose a caseload of either 100% small animal OR 85% small animal, 15% equine, wildlife and exotics. The practice regularly sees kangaroos, wombats, lizards, birds, snakes, guinea pigs, and rabbits.

This is a full-time role. The clinic is open from 8:30 am until 5 pm, Monday to Friday, and 8:30 am until 11 am on Saturdays. They are closed on Sundays and public holidays.

The practice is purpose-built, sees a wide range of cases and offers a unique and total approach to pet care. They have extensive animal boarding kennels onsite, as well as a full time grooming service. It is fully equipped with an in-house REM blood machine, digital x-ray, dental unit, plating equipment, a new laser unit and a high-end ultrasound machine.

In addition to a generous salary package, the employer is offering a $3,000 relocation contribution. Wages are reviewed and adjusted every three months and are KPI based. You will also receive one week's paid study leave along with paid registration and radiation licence.

The employer is willing to assist with a work permit (sponsorship) for suitable overseas candidates. Applicants must have a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (or equivalent) and be eligible for registration as a veterinary practitioner in Australia.

Feedback from a locum veterinarian:

'I have worked as a locum at the clinic three times now, and I am happy to go back whenever the team needs me since they are absolutely wonderful. There has not been a day where I have not felt supported by the nurses, the vets, the receptionists, and management. Everyone is very welcoming. Even though I am not there permanently, my opinion and boundaries have always been respected, and I have felt valued. We also practice good medicine, and the animals under our care are well looked after. I advocate for good working conditions for veterinarians and veterinary staff; therefore I am happy to recommend working for them.'

The practice is located in a beautiful part of South Australia. The area offers all the conveniences and facilities expected from a modern city while maintaining the sense of closeness you would expect in a rural location. It is situated on quiet waterways and in close proximity to the spectacular Flinders Ranges.
