A position has arisen for a vet to join an amazing small animal clinic in Cumbria.

Both experienced vets and recent graduates are welcome to apply.

The ideal candidate will be compassionate and caring, with great communication skills and the drive to develop long-term relationships with our clients and their pets.

The role will see the successful vets join a clinical team in a practice that is keen to keep key clinical skills in primary practice while providing excellent care to patients and clients. Vets at the practice are supported by five excellent RVNs, an animal care assistant, SVNs and wonderful front-of-house staff.

The team run in-house healthcare plans that can provide both routine and nonroutine care for member animals. The clinic strives to maintain a team of veterinary surgeons who share a desire to collectively develop and maintain a broad range of medical and surgical skills. Team members share their knowledge and skills while also developing their own interests.

The practice is also a Gold Standard Cat Friendly Clinic and is currently working towards being accredited by Investor in the Environment.

The position is open to be a full-time and a part-time role. Out-of-hours is on a 1:4 basis, allowing vets to maintain a great work-life balance.

Equipment includes digital x-ray, dental x-ray, ultrasound, video-endoscope, in-house laboratory with biochemistry and haematology machines, allowing vets to investigate fully and offer various medical and surgical options.

Vets receive five weeks paid leave plus bank holidays, RCVS fees and one other subscription paid as well as Healthshield policy and pension with Legal and General. Further education is encouraged with a generous CPD budget provided. Funds to further study to a certificate level is on offer for the right candidate. There are currently two vets at the practice working towards certificates.

The practice is located in Cumbria, north-west England. The Scottish borders and Lake District are nearby for you to explore on your days off.
