Due to rapid growth, a practice in the Central West region of New South Wales is seeking a mixed practitioner to join the team!

Both new graduates and experienced vets are welcome to apply.

This truly mixed practice sees a busy medical and surgical caseload. The large animal work is mostly dairy and beef cattle; however, there is a growing equine clientele and the team also regularly treats alpacas, goats and sheep.

The role will see you working in a multi-vet team with four nurses and a practice manager. They are committed, friendly, fun, supportive and hard-working. They work together to provide a high standard of care to patients and clients. The practice owner has a wealth of mixed practice and ruminant production experience and provides assistance with cases, mentoring, support and professional development.

Most cases are kept in-house, but there is the option of referral or liaising with specialist clinics if and when required.

There is flexibility for the role to be full or part-time. Typically, full time vets work a 9-day fortnight. The after-hours work is a varied range of county practice emergencies. On-call is shared equally between vets, with the after-hours service 'clocking off' between 8 pm and 8 am each night. There are highly experienced vets and nursing staff available for support on call.

A generous salary package, starting at $90,000 plus superannuation, for full-time employees. A higher base salary will be commensurate with experience.

Unsure whether country living is for you? The practice offers a three-month trial period with accommodation in a furnished apartment. Other benefits include a six-month gym membership and an annual professional full car detail.

Ideally, applicants will have (or be interested in gaining) their PregCheck and BullCheck VBBSE Accreditation with the Australian Cattle Vets.

There is the opportunity to consolidate and expand your veterinary skills across many species with the scope to pursue any special interests. CPD is strongly encouraged at the practice.

The clinic is well-equipped with computed radiography, IM3 dental, small animal ultrasound, in-house bloods and urinalysis, anaesthetic machines and monitoring, a newly upgraded microscope, new dental powerfloat, two BCF ultrasound machines, electro-ejaculators and in-field microscopy for bull testing, electric water bath and liquid nitrogen semen storage tank for AI.

Located in the central west region of New South Wales, the district offers many recreational, sporting and cultural activities. Enjoy the beautiful rural landscape, local cuisine and wineries while being just one hour from major regional centres, 2.5 hours from Canberra and Wagga and four hours from Sydney.
