A position has become available at a family-owned and operated clinic just north of Melbourne. The friendly and supportive team have been providing high-quality and personalised veterinary care for over 40 years.

The practice prefers to employ a veterinarian with some experience.

The business pride themselves on providing a good work-life balance for their staff. The successful applicant can choose the hours that they work. The roster will be built around your availability. Those seeking to work school hours are encouraged to apply. Full-time hours are preferred. However, part-time will be considered for the right candidate.

This is a well-equipped clinic with IDEXX in-house pathology, digital x-ray, ultrasound, Vision software, IM3 dental equipment and a surgery equipped with modern anaesthesia and monitoring equipment. The practice also has a mobile clinic that services the local scenic countryside providing clients with routine veterinary care without them having to leave their homes.

The successful applicant will be required to work a 4-day week. 1 in 3 weekends will be on call as well as a share in the weekday after hours.

The vet will be required to undertake small animal medicine and surgery. In addition, there is the opportunity to undertake large animal work. This is mainly beef cattle with the occasional sheep, alpaca and goat client. The practice does not see any equine patients.

This is an opportunity to enjoy a varied caseload with good exposure to both medicine and surgery. The mix can be tailored to suit the successful applicant.

Vets can expect a very varied workload in both the small and large animal fields, with support from both the practice owner and specialist clinics nearby. While referral is an option, many clients decline, meaning there is ample opportunity to work up more complex cases in-house as well as interesting surgery opportunities. No 2 days are the same in this genuine mixed practice!

The practice is located within one and a half hours of Melbourne, close to the Goulburn River and is a popular area for a range of outdoor activities including horse riding, bushwalking, four-wheel driving, fishing and rock climbing. The town is home to many restaurants and historic buildings and is close to wineries.
