An enthusiastic veterinarian is required at a practice on the NSW mid-north coast.

Both experienced vets and new/recent graduates are encouraged to apply.

The caseload is diverse, consisting of approximately 70% small animal and 30% large animal. The large animal work is made up of dairy, beef, equine and small ruminants. Although a mixed practitioner would be preferred, the employer also welcomes applications from small animal only vets.

The role will see the vet working alongside a skilled, competent and hard-working seven-vet team. Vets are supported by 13 nurses and receptionists. The wealth of knowledge and experience held by the team makes this a great opportunity to either commence or extend your veterinary career. The practice is large enough for your special interests to be catered to. Vets are encouraged to pursue further studies to expand their knowledge and skillset.

A full time role generally involves a four-day working week. You will join a rotating after-hours rota. Vets at the practice are required to work 1 in 6 weekends plus one weeknight on-call per week. You will be provided with a day off in lieu of working a weekend. Ideally, the employer is looking to secure a full time vet; however, they are happy to consider part-time vets, as well as flexible hours and days to be worked.

The employer is willing to assist with a work permit (sponsorship) for suitable overseas candidates. Applicants must have a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (or equivalent) and be eligible for registration as a veterinary practitioner in Australia.

The purpose-built practice is equipped with all of the tools and equipment required to aid vets in diagnosis.

The practice is located on the mid-north coast of New South Wales. It is a fantastic location, situated close to many beaches, waterways, mountain views and pristine national parks. It is 3.5 hours north of Sydney. There is no shortage of activities to do in the area, with options including surfing, kiteboarding, fishing, boating, water skiing, bushwalking and mountain biking.
