Are you interested in a GP role with a rehabilitation component?

A small animal general practice and rehabilitation facility in Melbourne's northern outskirts is looking for a vet to join their large, expanding team.

There may be more than two positions available. Couples are welcome to apply.

The role will see the successful applicant join a 12-vet team. Current vets have special interests/expertise in canine rehabilitation and sports medicine (orthopaedic surgery), behaviour, imaging, acupuncture, nutrition and Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy.

The practice offers an outstanding combination of diagnostic and treatment choices that are rarely found in GP Practice.

The role can be full time, part-time or casual, with rostering to suit your lifestyle preference!

The practice is well-equipped with CT, MRI, digital radiography, dental radiography, ultrasound, and a full IDEXX suite, as well as fluoroscopy, CO2 laser, ventilator, arthroscopy, gastroscopy, bronchoscopy and a nasal scope.

In addition to the GP clinic, there is also a spacious rehabilitation centre, allowing the team to provide a variety of advanced and integrative therapies. Equipment at the rehab centre includes regenerative medicine, including prp and stem cell, hyperbaric medicine and canine rehabilitation, including hydrotherapy (pool and underwater treadmills), laser therapy, acupuncture, myotherapy, therapeutic and physiotherapy exercises, neuromuscular stimulation and prosthetics and brace casting.

The employer firmly believes advanced GP practices are a great opportunity to discover your true interests, build those solid foundational skills and help shape your future career as a competent and confident veterinarian.

The after-hours service runs from 8 pm - 10 pm for urgent consults. There is an on-site nurse 24 hours a day to support patients in the hospital, with clinical leads on backup for any concerns.

The employer is willing to assist with a work permit (sponsorship) for suitable overseas candidates. Applicants must have a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (or equivalent) and be eligible for registration as a veterinary practitioner in Australia.

On offer:

- A generous hourly rate plus super.

- 30-minute consultations that allow you to fully educate clients on their options and to develop trusting relationships.

- Readily available support from senior vets.

- Opportunities to advance skills in Surgery, Emergency Care, Diagnostic Imaging, Canine Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine.

- Continuing education, both internal and external.

The practice is located approximately one hour from Melbourne's CBD. It is a peaceful, quiet suburb with beautiful parks and greenery.
