Vet Nurse Job in Melbourne - 221,533LW

An exciting opportunity has become available for a qualified vet nurse to join a private practice in one of Melbourne's most popular inner, south-eastern locations.

While this is a permanent position, the practice will also consider applicants visiting Australia on a working holiday visa who are available for 6 months work.

The successful applicant will join a friendly and enthusiastic team of multiple vets and nurses. The practice sees a diverse and interesting caseload, so no two days are ever the same!

Nurses are encouraged to be hands-on and perform all the practical tasks that nursing allows: anaesthetic monitoring and surgery, reception, care of hospital cases and nurse consultations. The practice is seeking a nurse who can perform these tasks confidently and efficiently.

A full time role would include a rotating roster Monday - Friday, with one Saturday shift a month.

A part-time applicant would ideally be able to work on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

Nursing shifts are 7.5 hours long.

The successful candidate will hold a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent). The practice will consider applications from recently qualified nurses as well as those with experience. Excellent communication skills and effective time management skills are highly desirable.

The practice has fully equipped examination rooms, diagnostics including digital x-ray and an in-house laboratory, as well as an iM3 dental machine.

The clinic hours are:

Monday: 8:30am - 7pm

Tuesday - Friday: 8:30am - 6pm

Saturday: 9am - 1pm

No Sundays or public holidays.

The practice is close to the CBD in a popular suburb. This vibrant town is home to unique eateries, botanical gardens, and close to bayside beaches. There are plenty of famous tourist attractions nearby.
